Exclamation 2009 3.0d xf airbag and pedestrian warning lights.

HI Friends.
can anyone advise me please.
My airbag light and pedestrian warning lights are on, and an independant auto electrician took the car and told me the fault is in the front interior light unit ( the passenger airbag off light does not work) I bought a second hand unit and he says as the fault did not clear this unit is faulty as well. the fault codes displayed are B00D2-01 Restraint system malfunction indicator and B00D5-13 Restraint system passenger disable indicator circuit open.
Has anyone had any similar occurrances and as Jaguar do not sell the little circuit board only the whole light unit , i do not want to waste £300 if this will not clear the fault.
Also electrician says theres no faults in the pedestrian protection system thats only illuminated because of the airbag light being on.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum glh1969,

As you have a European specification vehicle, it is fitted with the Pedestrian Impact Protection System. The usual cause of a false warning is a failed sensor or associated harness behind the front bumper (see item 7):

You can either guess and throw parts at it or use Jaguar SDD dealer diagnostics (or equivalent) to read the relevant DTC's to determine the cause.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Thanks Graham ive just posted my intro.
As for my fault , the independant jag electrician has told me there is no faults in the pedestrian system, and is only illuminated because my airbag light is on constantly.
Does anyone know if this is true ? Ive already had the front crash sensors replaced.
Has anyone else had trouble with the interior light cluster airbag light before ?
Greatly appreciated friends.
