I have a 2009 XF 2.7 diesel. Transmission oil cooler has failed allowing some engine coolant into the transmission. Does anyone here know if it is possible to remove the old cooler and fit the new one from under the left front mudguard?

 

As it turns out I was able to remove the cooller from through the space behind the left front wheel. If you do this job be aware the plastic base the cooller sits on has to be removed first. I did remove the air cleaner box to give me better access to disconnect and reconnect coolant hoses.
