Default Oil cooler woes

Hey there,

Whilst the front end is in pieces, I need to sort out the oil cooler. The pipesmare brittle and have been bodged. Result: what ever you fill in the top comes out below...

So, as far as I can tell, my 89 has the later version of the oil cooler. The metal piping seems okay. I see no reason, why I can't have the hoses replaced by my local hydraulics shop. Does anyone know, are these hoses some kind of special sized super rare pipes made only for Jaguar?

The piping runs under the car to the oil filter housing, right? That tends to leak too, or is that only on certain models?

Cheers

Damien

Hi Daim

There is nothing Special about the Hoses or the Fittings, any Hydraulic Firm can make you a set in half an hour.

When I replaced mine, I did away with the metal bends altogether and just re-routed the Pipes around the Engine Bay.

They can even make you a Set out of that Stainless Steel Braided Stuff if you want.

I just made them an offer of half the price of OEM which we all thought was fair and in less than 30 minutes the job was done.

Got to drag this up again...

Anyone know the inner diameter of the rubber hoses?
