Any idea WHY my 2009 XF SC does NOT have the Dynamic Mode checkered flag option? My manual says Supercharged vehicles have this option yet my car does not. All other parts of the car are truly Supercharged features. Just missing this one. Strange to me. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!!

 

I think the flag option is only on the 2010 sxf onwards no?

 

No, it was standard for 2009 too..

I have a 2009 XF SC as well and have the flag button. Every time I look at it it says "push me for happiness"...

 

JBliss - how did this story end? Why was your car missing the "Dynamic" button?

 

I test drove a 2009 XF Super this weekend and it had the checkered flag option. So something must be wrong with the other car. Also, the engine says Super underneath the hood.

 

I have the 2010 XF Premium, i.e. it is not a supercharged (SC) version and has the normally aspirated 5 litre, 385 bhp engine, and I have the chequered flag option button on the console i.e dynamic mode. So if it it missing on your SC version it would appear that you have an incorrectly configured car. I would register a complaint!!

 

How did the story end? Well.....the dealer service department said this:
Regarding the dynamic mode , I know there were early vehicle's that did not come equipped with that feature. If your vehicle does not
have a hard button adjacent to the transmission gear selector with the checkered flag , your vehicle was not equipped .
The engine is indeed a supercharged engine. i have inspected this vehicle and all other aspects of this vehicle are supercharged. just missing the checkered flag button. Strange.

I would look into the service history for your car and see if the Electronic Shifter has ever been replaced. I suspect it was and they installed the wrong part number. There is one for SC cars and one for NA cars. That happened at my store once when an inattentive parts guy handed one of our guys the wrong shifter and he didn't notice it. A week later the lady called us because she missed her checkered flag. Otherwise it worked just fine.
