2009 XF stuck in Park?
Hey guys, sorry to revive an old thread but my XF recently started getting locked in the park position accompanied the an illuminated CEL, the problem was intermittent at first , would correct itself after a few engine recycles, but now the fault has became a hard fault the gear shifter no longer works I’ve had my car placed on a scanner, the only
fault codes I get are :
gearshift lost comm. to TCM
TCM lost comm. to gearshift
im really lost as to what my issue is exactly,I’ve seen a lot of posts about the selectors getting stuck, but none seem to match mines. There are NO jaguar dealers where I’m located so I’m at ends when it comes to getting a Jaguar tool placed on the car to have every subsystem read and diagnosed.
if anyone has any knowledge of what could possibly be happening to my car, I would love some input or to at least be steered in the right direction. I’ve ordered a new selector, but It won’t make it here for a while so I would like to know if there’s anything I should test to ensure that my fault is indeed my gear selector and not something else .
side notes-
I had new battery fitted
-” transmission fault “ displayed on instrument cluster
-shift release takes car from park to D instead of N sometimes, with the D flashing
- abs pump is felt on startups when shifter is stuck, not present when shifter is able to turn?????
