2009 XF TSB Roof Repainting?
Hi
I'm looking at purchasing a 2009 XF from a local dealer. I came by for my final inspection and noticed the entire roof had been repainted. The dealer did the work a week before I saw the car and never told me. Now, they are claiming its because of a service bulletin, it's a common problem according to them and the roof needs to be re-enforced. Inside of the sunroof still has primer and what looks like body filler cracks. Really poor job.
I saw the invoice, its billed to the dealership. I cant find an reason why the entire roof needs to be repainted as a result of TSB or a recall.
Any ideas? Can someone be kind enough to run the VIN for me in Topix (PM me)?
I'm going back tmw to get my deposit back, sounds like they are hiding something.

I had two small cracks in the roof in front of the moonroof on the outer edges. I guess others have had the same issue. The dealer had to weld the cracks and repaint the area on my car.
I don't think I'd necessarily back out on the deal but you'd want to know exactly why it was painted.

Thanks Blackcoog. Would you have a copy of the service bulletin or a copy of the invoice so I could compare? Something rubs me the wrong way about these guys. I don't remember dealers being so nice, putting in almost a grand of work when the car has been out of warranty for atleast a year.
