Silly question.
I have a 2010 XF w/ Halogen headlights. (X250 / 4.2V8 NA)
I believe the plug to plug in both the Halogen headlights and the HID headlights are the same.
Could I simply acquire 2 HID headlights and plug them right in? Meaning, could I just take out the halogen headlights and drop these in and plug em right in? Or would that not work?

(I understand HID headlights may be expensive but I'm possibly acquiring 2 perfect ones for cheap and I'd love better visibility -- as long as I don't get error codes and messages).

I've been informed that it's not technically possible, unfortunately.

Simply replacing all Headlights and components from Halogen to HID is not do-able (stock for stock).
The issue appears to pertain related to electronics (HID is higher draw) and in certain instances, certain messages on the dashboard.
