My bill of sale/car description says it has HD radio.

However, I can't seem to activate that function based on the instructions of the manual: Audio Settings, HD radio ON.

I'm thinking this was an error in the bill of sale or that the car does not have software updated.

Also, the nav sucks on this thing. It has a pittance of POI's. Does not even have the local Costco or Target in there, it routes me to one 250 miles away. Love the car, hate the nav. It's basically useless for POI's. It's fine if you put in an address, but who does that these days?

 

Just bought one as well and I have the HD radio. Won't work unless there is HD radio broadcasts in your area. Re the nav they told me that it is not complete and will need to be flashed when the final changes are made as the model roll out. Sexy looking car!

 

My area most definitely has HD Radio. My friend has an XFR and he has it.

Have you turned it on? How did you do it?
Have you actually listened to an HD Station?

I don't know about "flashing" the nav. The nav works off a DVD system. Doesn't need to be flashed.

Which dealer did you buy from?

if it doesn't work just go to the dealership. once its on it should work.

 

I noticed on my XF, if there is an HD radio station, it pre-popluates on the station memory buttons. Also if I scan up it selects the HD radio feeds before tuning to the next FM station.

 

My XF Premium came with HD radio. If it is enabled you may find that the station is a duplicate of a standard analogue FM station. I turned mine off since during the journey it would drop out and revert to the FM channel which was slightly delayed so I would get a strange echoing effect. I listen mainly to NPR which has a comprehensive HD radio service in my area (Austin, TX). Not particularly impressed with the HD radio and the coverage in Austin.

The 2011 XF Premium is not standard with HD Radio. It comes as part of the Bower & Wilkins upgrade. It is standard on the Supercharged and XFR. Your dealer received new stickers and should have affixed them to the car.
