Cool video!!

On the 0-60 run, are you left foot braking and loading the torque convertor before mashing the throttle??

Interested as i'm going to be doing a spot of drag racing in May and want to get a good start technique...........4.0 to 60 will set up for a low 12 1/4 surely!!!!

Yes I am loading the torque converter to about 1500rpm and then releasing the throttle. Upon release, I go to about 75% throttle and then hit wide open as soon as I feel the diff has locked itself. Usually makes for a great start, however, sometimes I will leave two long black strips on accident.

In less than two weeks time (May 9th), user '2010 Kyanite XFR' and I will be heading to Auto Club Speedway here in Fontana, CA for a few 1/4 mile passes. I am excited to see how his modified XFR stacks up against my car; which is now only only running an axle back exhaust and the factory 510hp tune.

If I do find the time, I may be able to get the 550bhp XKR-S mapping reloaded to my ECU before the drag day.

I found any attempt to power brake was fruitless as the tires just don't hook (I have Pirellis). With drag radials I think you'd do well with this technique and a big stinky burnout.

I wish we had some sort of drag start mode like MB and BMW for 4000rpm with computer controlled traction

Having launch control would be awesome! The tires I am currently running (Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position) grip rather well out of the hole! I also have a set of Michelin Pilot Supersports waiting to be installed after I burn the S-04's at the strip.

I had a set of P-Zero's on the car but they definitely didn't feel as grippy as the S-04's or the Supersports. Having tried a bunch of different tires, I think my preference has to go to Michelin. Give them a try when your current set of tires wear out!

Here's some axle-breaking tires...I'd love to see someone run these!
