Default 2011 XFR - Charge Cooler Boiling?

As the title suggest, I noticed that liquid inside my charge cooler was boiling. This is the first time I've ever noticed this sound and other than the clear video evidence that the coolant inside the charge cooler is boiling, there is nothing else to report. (video below was taken when vehicle was off)

Visual inspection shows no coolant leaving the system though of course I am unable the check the backside of the motor where the crossover pipes are located. There is no sweet smell of spilled coolant though I have noticed that the coolant inside the expansion tank is dropping ever so slightly over an extended period of time.

After hearing this boiling sound, I loaded up Torque App and checked for codes and checked coolant temps. Everything seems to be normal with no changes in coolant and oil temps, etc. Driving around, there is no degradation in performance whatsoever.

Having driven the car for a short while (approx 3 miles), I came back and the bubbling/boiling noise was gone.

Have any other members experienced something like this or are any techs able to provide insight into this scenario? My only thoughts are that my rear crossover pipe may be cracked and is introducing air into the system.

Any insight would be appreciated!

It has a nearly independent liquid path which does not go via ECT so reading ECT is no help.

However, there is IAT2 which is after the IC has had a chance to cool the air. You can read it via a specialist tool such as IDS/SDD or an iCarSoft - Search for info.

Sounds like your IAT2 and/or IC pump is faulty because I'd expect a code for what you state.

Pressure test your cooling system, you can rent a pressure tester with the Ford adaptors from O'Reilly's. You can also pressure test the coolant tank cap, but if it's over 4 yo just replace it. Coolant will boil only if air is present in the cooling system .

to tag on to the other feedback, check fuse for charge cooler pump and make sure it's circulating. ( i think a 15 amp in under hood fuse panel) mine was blown and the MAP-T sensor was reading 160*F - even as high as 180*F IATs once warmed up and getting on it..

i know this doesn't specifically address your boiling sound, but i was considering the coolant in the charge cooler sitting stagnant with no circulation and subjected to the engine's heat. If main engine coolant loop had no circulation, would boil.
