Hello all, I have a 2012 XF 5.0 V8 N/A 75K miles with the 6 speed ZF transmission.

I have an issue where the car sort of jerks whenever I shift into reverse or park. The car shifts through gears flawlessly, especially after the transmission flush I had gotten done at 73K miles. But even after the flush it still jerks pretty bad when shifting into P and R, very noticeable when the car is cold as well.

I was wondering if anyone has done transmissions mods. That may sound odd but I sort of am asking if there are any parts of the transmission I can replace with newer updated parts. Also if there are particular parts that are know to wear out and can be replaced without much difficulty please let me know.

Interesting I recently had the car serviced, a XFS 3.0 V6 diesel 2010 so similar. All good today my brother went out for a hwy country cruise. After 30 kms it suddenly popped up an error code handbrake warning. Driving up a mountain pass it then gave off a gearbox warning. I bailed and turned around into a small town and stopped for coffee and waited. Maybe 30 mins later restarted and no code, drove home without any issues. faulty codes etc? Occasionally the car has held onto gear longer than it should then changed up. I am wondering if she needs a flush?
Mileage 177,000 km (110,000 miles).

 

Make sure it's not the battery (it usually is!).

 

Replaced transmission mount on my 09 supercharged and issue disappeared...

 

Agreed, that is the most likely cause.
