4 years means it goes to the end of the 4th year not the beginning.

No?

No. what it means is:

1st service at the end of the first year (15,000 mile service) - Free
2nd service at the end of the second year (30,000 mile service) - Free
3rd service at the end of the third year (45,000 mile service) - Free
4th service at the end of the 4th year (60,000 mile service) - Not part of the free servicing since it's past the 50,000 point.

Please note that the mileage listed in the brackets is the service interval mileage and not the actual car mileage.

Clear?

No, according to the documentation it does not work that way.

The documentation states :
The Jaguar Platinum Coverage program covers work determined necessary by illumination of the Service Interval Indicator, which is triggered nominally at 15,000 miles, or every 12 months, whichever occurs first. Under certain arduous driving conditions the Service Interval Indicator may illuminate more frequently. If so, the scheduled
maintenance service will be covered provided the vehicle is within the 4-year/50,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage period.

So based on this if you drive less than 15k per year you will get 4 services at one year intervals. If you drive more than 15k per year you will be limited to how many you get by the 50k ceiling.

Well you may say no, but two dealers in Houston and Jaguar USA customer service says yes. Hence my reason for posting in the first place. I thought the situation would be as you described but according to the dealers and manufacturer, only 3 free services and 1 brake fluid change (every 2 years apparently).

Now based on my experiences so far with dealers and Jaguar, I wouldn't be surprised if they were wrong, but unless someone knows different, and can provide evidence supporting their case, it looks like I'll be paying for the 4th year service.

TXFireblade,

Okay, sorry if I misinterpreted your actual statement. I'm with 09XFSuper: I believe you should get four complimentary 12 month services, provided you are less than 50,000 miles. Which I suppose is the key point.

Curiously, the bulletin doesn't address the 48 month interval, except for the vaguely worded, "In the event a customer should experience the need for additional maintenance beyond the 36-month service during the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, please contact your Warranty Specialist at: 888-JAG-DLRS (888-524-3577) > Option 5 > four-digit dealer code."

This appears to be a deficiency in their bulletin. It's clear that many customers can show up at 48 months and 40,000 miles seeking their 48 month complimentary scheduled maintenance (i.e. every 12 months or 15,000 miles, whichever is less). I know I will be, once a year at 10,000 miles annually. Woe betite the crooked dealership who attempts to deny me that fourth couplimentary service that I will be seeking fully within the terms of Jaguar's Platinum Coverage (to the jeopardy of my warranty if I do not!) - - which constitutes a valid and fully enforceable contract.

Yeah, the bulletin's interval chart doesn't address the 48th month (fourth 12-month interval) at less than 50,000 miles on the vehichle, except for some vague wording below the chart. That appears to be a deficiency. Or, if the 36 month interval only, the last shown in the bulletin's interval chart, truly does represent Jaguar corporate's policy, then the "4 year" part of their 4 year/50,000 miles complimentary scheduled maintenance ("whichever is less") seems false - - perhaps that's the even bigger issue.

So what you are indicating is that if by year 3 you have done 55,000 miles you only get 2 free services? Very misleading as I was always under the impression it was years or mileage whichever comes first??

Try and get the dealer to agree to that they claim you only actually get 3 free services!!

I am fighting Jaguar NA on this very issue as I don't do lots of miles.

Hey I have reported this to jaguar corporate and they agree with the dealer, I am fighting with them over this very misleading free service warranty.

Well..I am also a victim of false pretenses and promises too..I was lead to believe the same thing..4 years of free oil changes and services..In reality, it is only 3 years or 45,000 miles which ever came first, based on a typical 15,000 mile driving year..so my next service interval (@ the 4th year/60,000 miles) is on me...Funny thing, I'll only have about 20,000 miles actually on the clock....

I was told by my dealer, just the oil and filter change if that is all I wanted, will be $149.00..But if I have the engine intake air and cabin pollen filters, and seat filters ( on cooled seat models) changed too, it would be $554.00...I do my own air filters, thank you very much.

Jaguar North America..you lying sacks of ****!!!

Yep. How they ever thought that this wouldn't lead to confusion and ultimately discontent amongst owners of the 2012 MY cars in beyond me.

I have been in touch with corporate and they agree with the dealer the 4th year is not free. The best I could get from corporate was a $400 certificate for the 4 th year service.
Anyone know what the 4 year 60,000 mile service cost from a jaguar maun dealer?

Their corporate folks need to clarify this with their dealership network. There is a ton of confusion on this and it is effecting all MY 2011 and 2012 right now. Some dealers are doing it no problem and others are sticking owners with $550 bills!

I did the engine air intake filters myself, and it's very easy. Takes about 15 minutes. I did the pollen filter I think three times already, and it takes less than 10 minutes. I posted the instructions on the DIY sticky.

I've never done the seat cooling filters, though. Anyone have instructions for this?
