There's another thread on the seat cooling fans which covers filter replacement and equivalent Ford Taurus part for a fraction of the Jaguar price.

Good luck!
First of all, a big thanks to Scottjr1
For posting this number...I too called Audrey and gave her an ear-full about how so many of us were mislead with the 2012 Platinum Coverage>>>..She said that's because the car would have 60,000 miles and that would put it out of warranty at the fourth year...I calmly told her that my car would only have about 20,000 miles next August on it, at it's 4th year anniversary and it WOULD NOT be out of warranty>>>>>Long awkward pause>>>>Then she said "OH?" You don't drive it much I see...Then I said OH! is right...Now comes some back pedaling..."Well sir, I will contact your dealership (which she knew and also noticed I was on my 2nd Jaguar and I said; my last after this fiasco) and told me she would give the dealership credit for my next, the 4th year service, next August"...I said thank you very much and I was okay with that.

Back on topic again...

I got a call today from Jaguar North America (Audrey) and was pleased to hear thet they will be sending me a $400.00 customer goodwill voucher (no expiration date) to use on anything I like at my dealership.

It pays to complain.

Is that dealership or service department? Or either? Just curious.

I bought a 2012 XF SC in March. Previous owner had 3 services in during their approx 3 yrs of owning, 41800 miles upon selling it. Was at Jag service for electrical issue (covered under parts warranty) and I asked about the included service since I had read this topic. No more complimentary services was their answer.

I'm preparing my case & supporting documentation for my 4th complementary service this Wednesday. My "service required" reminder is illuminated, I'm about 3 weeks away from hitting 4.0 years in service, and its has been 1 year exactly since my last scheduled maintenance. The program documentation, both the owners guide and Jaguar service bulletin 3-285USA2, support my position.

Based on your experiences, I am expecting resistance from the service department, however the service bulletin gives the dealership clear & formal guidance on what to do in this exact situation (i.e. contact warranty specialist for authorization).

Have any other MY2012 owners been through this recently? The majority of MY11 & MY12 owners are likely going through this in the next several weeks. I'll post the results of the engagement on Wednesday.

Last week, re; my last post..I received in the mail, 4- $100.00 gift certificates to use on service or parts at any JAG dealer....I'll be using mine on the 4th year oil change, plus wheel alignment, cabin pollen filter and any other thing I can think of...Hopefully my original battery will crap out before this next August of my car's anniversary date, so I can get that changed while under the 4 year plan.

Call the corporate office well ahead of going to the dealer and get the vouchers like many already have on this thread . The dealer is unlikely to budge on this.

UPDATE: Today I took my 2012 XF in for its 4th year complementary scheduled maintenance. I had no previous engagements on this topic with either the local dealer or the corporate office.

Upon arrival and inprocessing, I asked the service rep to verify that the scheduled service would be complementary. He entered whatever online system they use and after about 5 minutes he said it was not allowing him to bill that 4th complementary service in their system. At that point I pulled out a hard copy of Service Bulletin No 3-285USA2, which details the complementary service program.

I highlighted the process for addressing situations where the customer had already had three annual scheduled maintenance services and the "service required" reminder was again illuminated but still within the 4.00 year period of coverage. He talked it over with his colleague, and they said "OK lets call that number". After 5 minutes on the phone, he received an authorization code which allowed their system to bill Jag NA for the scheduled maintenance service. I did not have to call Jag NA corporate at any point and it was handled in real-time by the service advisor. The maintenance was performed without incident and all is well.

Just thought I'd share my experience for the benefit of others. The key part for me was having that hard copy of the Service Bulletin already having highlighted the relevant sections. Without that, I likely would have had to break contact and regroup.

Great news..I like my outcome better as I'll have extra cash in hand after my service..

After all that, your case intrigues me...where did you get this Jaguar service bulletin 3-285USA2? if it's not too much to ask, would it be possible to highlight it's contents, or scan the document and post a copy here for the rest of us to see...and Could you also reference page numbers of the owners guide that you used for your argument?

Thanks in advance..

Hi -- the bulletin was posted on page 1, post #15 of this thread. The critical language is immediately following the table on page 2. You are correct that $400 in vouchers would be somewhat advantageous to the consumer when compared to the complementary 4 year service (depends a bit on the terms of the vouchers and partial use credit).

Thanks for the reply..

What was sent to me was 4-$100.00 GIFT CERTFICATES not Vouchers..useable on ANYTHING I care to spend them on at the dealer..I don't get change from one, example; if the invoice was $99.00, I don't get a $1.00 in change..I lose it..But if the invoice is $101.00 I spend an extra dollar out of my pocket.

Seriously, thanks to this I was able to get my fourth service done without a hitch. I had about 46k miles and my coverage/warranty should expire next month.

When I made the appointment, the SA just said that it should be covered as long as the warranty/coverage is still in affect. I did exactly what calviroman did, printing out and highlighting the TSB and bringing it with me. Once there, the SA first looked up my vehicle history and said that I don't have anymore services left. He said the Platinum coverage only covers up to 50k and that they already did the 45k service, so there are none left. He was basically going off of the mileage iterations (15k) rather than time (once yearly). I don't how many Jaguar owners drive 15k a year, but it's a safe bet that the time increments are a far more applicable measurement to the majority of Jag owners. I told him that that's only the service for the third year and that the plan covers up to 4 years, as clearly written on the TSB. He stuck with his position based on the mileage and also showed me the screen saying that it doesn't give him the option for a fourth one anyways.

I then showed him the TSB section where you call the warranty service # and enter your dealer code to get the authorization code needed to bill the service. He seemed a little skeptical, but did not really hesitate to call, which I'm thankful for as it made all the difference. He had it on speaker when he dialed, and a Jag NA lady picked up right away. They spoke and he was surprised to hear what was being told. She talked him through it, he hung up and remarked, "Well, you learn something new everyday." Apparently with his tenure at the dealership, I was the only one to ever come in and claim that 4th service. So, with that it was in the books along with some warranty work to fix some squeaks and rattles.

Best of luck to any others that are approaching this point. As long as the service rep calls that number, you're good to go.

FWIW, my authorization code was I378E.

And FYI for the 4th year/60k service, procedures include oil+filter change, engine air filter change, and front seat hvac filters change along with the usual inspections and fluid top offs.
