Default 2012 XF Intermittent wiper speeds not functioning

Hi All,
just got back from an extended work assignment and was looking forward to getting back in my 2012 XF and getting on the road. As luck has it here in Florida, rain is just something we deal with, but although my wipers will work on high and low "on" settings, the intermittent wiper setting only operates in it's slowest interval. turning the adjustment to any of the other intermittent intervals does nothing. It was working fine when i left, and if it was a little slow, turning it up 1 speed setting immediately activated the wipers, and decreased the time interval between "wipes".
Assuming a relay may have failed, but not sure which relay controls the "intermittent" mode as the other wiper modes work fine.
Any help would be much appreciated as it gets annoying having to manually activate the wipers when it is not raining hard enough to have them constantly wiping, even at the lower speed setting.
