Default 2012 XFR - Fixed the nose, tinted the windows and darkened the rims...

My 2012 XFR came with the front license plate holder installed - which I can't stand as none of my cars have ever had one. To compound the problem it was way too high and once off left 4 holes as well as a dimple. It looked like the "5" configuration on dice. So I had it removed and had a shop spot paint the bumper. I also tinted the side and rear windows 30% like on my prior XF and darkened up the rims (satin gray) as the silver alloy color seemed to be too tame on a white XFR. I also added red center caps. Now the XFR looks more aggressive.

Bodywork looks great and the grey rims are superb.

I do envy places where you don't need a front licence plate! Without them, a car looks as the designer intended.

Looks great. Nice touch on the wheels. Sophisticated look.

I think a little more gloss may have been nice but I'm satisfied with the job. It's amazing how much darker the rims look once next to the white.

I haven't been a fan of the Nevis wheels, but with your work and another member who is painting parts of the wheel black, the depth and asyemmtry of the wheel design seems better highlightled.

You could give it a shot of clearcoat.

Great idea. I'll ask the shop about that. Does it hold up well?

Most of the painted wheels have a clearcoat on them. They hold up as good as any paint would.
