Hi,

Have a great XF diesel on a 63 plate . For the first time today, I felt a judder at about 40-50mph . It passed. Parked up for 4 hours, started again no problem and drove 12 miles. Parked up. half an hour later, stuttered on start but fired up after maybe 10 seconds. Same again half an hour later. Now only turns over and wont start at all.

Has a FSH and has 90k on the clock, no other issues after owning it for 3 years and doing about 15k miles.

Has this happened to anyone else ? Any suggestions welcome.

Could be many things. You need to see if any codes are present to point at the problem. Could be the high pressure fuel pump but that's just a guess from your description. Unplug the fuel feed pipe into the fuel filter & crank it over for a mo to see if it's getting fuel to the engine.

 

Has the diesel filter been changed during the service. I had similar issues for that reason.
