2015 Jaguar XF 3.0L Portfolio - Coolant Problems
I have had so many coolant problems since I bought this car new in 2015. Is anyone else having problems? I have 69,000 miles, take excellent care of car and do all service maintenance. In 2018 they had to replace the coolant outlet pipe (still under warranty). 2019 had to replace coolant outlet pipe and water pump again (under warranty). 2020 had to replace coolant rear crossover pipe $919.00. 2020 had to replace thermostat housing. 2022 had to replace coolant level sensor with expansion tank $535.00. NOW I have to replace the Coolant Outlet Y Pipe because there is a huge leak and they want $2,800!
This can NOT be normal wear and tear because I take excellent care of my car. Can some PLEASE help me! I believe I have a faulty car a real lemon.

If it's any consolation, I have changed most of the hoses or fittings you have mentioned on my 2014 3.0 since owning it for 5 years. These parts being made from plastic will inevitable fail, so you are faced with having to replace them. thankfully some of the parts in the cooling system are being manufactured in metal...
are you taking your car to the dealer or a specialist? the Y pipe is under the SC so that needs to come off its a big job.... make sure u get a metal version to replace the plastic version.

Thank you so much for your response! I am taking my car to the Jaguar Dealer and I will make sure they use the metal version. I sure hope I don't have to continue to go through all of the replacing etc in the near future.
I had the same issues with my 2015. I did not use the dealer except for warranty/free fixes. Then I went to a mechanic I trusted. Jag dealer charged WAY TOO much.
I also got rid of the car after my 3rd time on the flatbed tow....

I wish I could find a good mechanic that worked on Jags near me, but can not find one. I will probably also be getting rid of my 2015 Jaguar XF 3.0L Portfolio and moving on to a more dependable car. I hate it because I really have enjoyed the beautiful car but at this point I am ready to let her go and I am DONE with Jaguar vehicles from now on!!!!

Agreed. It was the best looking, most fun to drive, amazing sound system car I have ever owned. I had it traded in on an XE lease, but my dealership went belly up and the deal feel through. Gone to Mercedes now....

I recently picked up a 2014 xfr. I currently am having to replace the thermostat housing. Going to replace all the connections with t-bolt clamps. Purchase the metal parts that I can without having to take off the Super charger yet.
The one suggestion that I would make is that I'm going to switch to Evan's coolant. With it's much higher threshold for a boiling point. It will reduce the pressure on the coolant pipes and lines.
That is my suggestion. Something to look into.

When one plastic pipe goes South bite the bullet and replace everything mentioned. I took mine to an Indy in Rhode Island and replaced everything under the Super Charger as well plus the water pump. Peace of mind for a few years.
