Default 2016 XF removing calipers

My boss just bought a 2016 XF with 6000 miles. But it has a very bad shake in the steering wheel when you mash the brakes. Took it to a local guy that said he thought the rotors needed to be turned. But he said he couldn't do it because of a sensor thats on the caliper. Is this something that has to be done at the Jaguar dealership?

Wrong and no.

The rotors don't need to be 'turned', the surfaces are probably contaminated with pad material. It is removed with a rough abrasive and a rotary tool.

Also, if it's a 2016 XF, shouldn't this be in the X260 thread?
I know on the X250 it's easy to remove the rotors and get them machined, and the pad wear sensors are nowhere near in the way, but maybe the X260 rotors are different?

Your mechanic can put on a dial indictor and tell if the rotor is warped without removing it. But yes it could be a warped rotor.
