2017 XF Interior Courtesy Lights
According to the Owner's handbook, Page 64, all the interior lights illuminate automatically when the vehicle is unlocked, or a door is opened. They do. But the manual goes on to state that they will extinguish approximately 20 seconds AFTER ALL OF THE DOORS ARE CLOSED, OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS LOCKED. That is not what happens. The interior courtesy lights extinguish about 20 seconds after a door is opened. I have not been able to impact this at all. Having doors open is irrelevant. The lights just go out no matter what. I have tried turning the automatic illumination function on and off (back and forth between Interior Lights Off and Interior Lights Auto ) . I have also adjusted the interior light intensity using the rotary control. Am I missing something? This is a very nice 28k mile Jaguar off lease vehicle which has been totally trouble free except for this minor annoyance. We have had it since February of this year. One oil change and a nail in one tire have been the only attention required. After having a 1994 XJ6, a 2002 XJ8, and a 2008 XJ, I convinced the Mrs. that it was time to downsize to an XF. I'd love to get this little issue cleared up if it can be.
