Angry 4 Wheel nuts missing

Wheel nuts missing
I have only had the car a few months and have a brake pad low warning, so decided to see whether it was front or rears that needed replacing but when I came to removing the wheel I was faced with 4 nut heads missing off the lugs!!!
Can anyone give advice on how I get the remaining part of the nuts off

Those don't appear to be stock lug nuts...
I've got the feeling that the previous owner used something special failed for some reason. I'm not seeing a way to remove what's left over.

Looks like some kind of aftermarket lug nuts.
Check your glove box, trunk spare tire area, center console, etc.

They might be "spline drive" lugs. What's on the rest of the wheels that are on the car. And yes, as suggested, turn the car "inside out", looking for a "key"....
