Adaptive Dynamic Fault "amberlight" on XFR 2010
I got a warning message "Adaptive Dynamic Fault" amber light on my XFR 2010 which I just got this weekend...does any of you know where this is coming from and how I can fix it?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I first got this error about a month ago and since then I've gone through several attempts by my Jaguar dealership/service dept. in fixing it to no avail -- in fact, my third attempt was "fixed" Friday and this morning, the error happened again on my commute. Did you ever get this fixed? I have the following things happen:
1. today, first error was 'Tire Pressure System Fault', then the vents will close, and sometimes the headlights/signal change/wipers functionality goes out -- other times, instrument panel LED goes out, obviously, A/C doesn't work, etc....after usually less than 5-10 min. vents will go back up, but two amber error messages remain on.
* ADAPTIVE DYNAMICS FAULT
* E-DIFF NOT AVAILABLE
2. the ride becomes extremely stiff/bumpy and the error codes above would suggest some sort of correlation to this effect.
Now, I have had several major components replaced (one during the second attempt, and another one during the third/last attetmpt) -- the technician has been trying his best...he has actually triggered the problem himself and road-tested it subsequently up to 100 miles! So, I'm sure they're as frustrated as I am and I don't think they will have a solution...
Anyone else have an issue like this? I've already but on 44-45k miles and have owned it for about 2 1/2 yrs.

I had "Adaptive Dynamic Fault" light pop on me this weekend. Car was cold and it happened when I gave it moderate throttle. No other issues. When the car was restarted later it was gone. I haven't had the issue previously. Hopefully it was a fluke.
Interesting -- your issue seems to be much less severe. Well, I'm off to get a loaner and see if this thing can be fixed! Will post any concrete information if they ever come up with a solution.
I forgot to disclose that I have a 2010 XFR.

From the UK site:
Re: Adaptive Dynamic Fault "amberlight" Error
Re: Adaptive Dynamic Fault "amberlight" Error
I just heard from a Jaguar service advisor that the Adaptive Dynamic Fault light comes up when the car is a heavy rain situation.
The sensor with moisture and constant rain get affected and creates this error...Once the error is detected, the car (by default) selects the Sport Dynamic mode (which is a stiffer ride) until the message clears.
I was also told that once the weather clears out, this type of error should be eliminated..Something I thought to share with the rest of the forum...has anybody heard of this before?

I think I saw that on a different forum on a broader Google search. I will say that the first time my error happened, it was during a pretty heavy rainfall. However, it has not cleared up and my symptoms do not involving just a warning light (see above re: loss of some electrical functionality). My car is at the dealership and some East Coast-based Jaguar engineer has taken over the case and is working in conjunction with my SoCal-based dealership. Hopefully, they find something -- this is the fourth time it has been in for this issue.

Ok--good news (well, so far...I have yet to drive the car after getting it back for more than 5-10 miles) on this topic. They found that a loose wire had actually been brushing against the muffler and causing intermittment shorts. The technician had the car up on the hoists and successfully replicated all the errors (vents opening/closing, dashboard going dark, wipers activating once, etc.) when he manually contacted this wire against the muffler. He had to take apart almost everything and inspect all the wiring as he knew there was some sort of grounding issue but it was not visually obvious as to where (even this harness area was fairly out of the way).

I'll just add to this thread for data collection purposes. I got this alert tonight during a rainstorm. It went back off a few hours later after the rain stopped. Side note, The message read "Adpative" on my Jag's console. Maybe that's the British spelling.
I have seen these and many others in both my 09 and 2010 XF's. They seem to be ghosts as when i shut off the car and restart it it goes away. The dealer confirmed there is no faults stored in the ecu. I only seen this once or twice.
I get it almost every week.
I drove around with my code scanner and when it did it I plugged in no stored codes no pending codes.
The dealership has tried to fix it by recalibrating all the sensors ABS/Ediff ect but it still does it. I just turn the car off and turn it back on and it goes away. Eventually the sensor will fail bad enought to give a codes and will get replaced.
