Base Model Brake Upgrade
So I've had my 2011 XF a few years now, and I'm about to surpass the 100k mile mark. This is generally the time table where I start modifying my cars.
I know some people here aren't a fan, but it's a base model, so hopefully that softens the blow.
So back to my question. I'm looking at upgrading some pieces on the car starting with brakes. I can tell at least one rotor is warping so I thought it's a good time to upgrade the full system.
What I've been looking at specifically is an XFR caliper upgrade. I've never been exactly happy with the base models braking capabilities. I'm wondering if anyone knows of it's a direct bolt in to the hubs, and of so, does anyone know if the base model wheels will clear the larger disks.
I'm planning on new wheels as well soon, but want to do that and suspension at the same time (no I'm not slamming the car, it has 100k miles, I'm doing new struts and the smallest lowering springs I can find, hopefully an Inch lower, if that).
I did search and couldn't come up with anything concrete on the topic.
Thank you,
Sam

The XFR brakes - 380 mm front and 376 mm rear - are a straight bolt on swap. The only possible problem is your existing front and/or rear brake line banjo bolts (on the ends of the brake lines) might not bolt up to the new calipers, but that only seems to effect some RHD models.
BUT new parts are very expensive AND you will need 20" wheels to clear the front calipers, with one exception - OEM F-Type 19" wheels, again fairly expensive.
So your best bet would be a set of used 20" Jag wheels or decent 20" after-market wheels, I fitted a set of 20" Coventry Whitley "hypersilver" to my old XFS (then XFR) and they were great.
The parts you will need are rotors/discs, calipers, caliper brackets, brake pads and splash shields. I have found that Britcar in the UK are the cheapest around for these parts (excluding the rotors and pads). Also, the front splash shields are vestigial and fairly useless so you can do without them.
New front calipers and caliper brackets are very very expensive!
You can find used calipers and caliper brackets from time to time on Fleabay at a fraction of the new cost, and maybe splash shields, but you will definitely need new rotors and pads. Just search Fleabay and Fleabay Motors for "Jaguar XFR brake rotors" and you will get 100's of hits for brands such as PowerSport, Hart, R1 Concepts and so on at a fraction of the cost of OEM.
Some are kits with pads included, some are just rotors, most are slotted and drilled or just slotted or just drilled, not many are "plain".
Best not to get a kit that includes pads as the supplied pads are often fairly ordinary and it's a crap shoot, better off spending a little more and getting some EBC Redstuffs or Porterfield R4-S.

Agree with Oz, get used calipers. The same calipers are used on many other Jaguar models. Look here and click on the tab that says Fitment https://www.luxuryautopartshq.com/oe...bC12OC1nYXM%3D
For example Standard XK calipers are listed as a match for example. But take your time to match it all up. I did brake upgrades on a bunch of my Saabs and was able to pull parts from all types of versions to upgrade. Probably the same here as well.
You may also find rebuilt units if they are in stock (Rockauto carries them but not in stock right now and include mounting brackets. I was able ot get genuine Brembo for my saab rebuilt for 60 bucks from RockAuto
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...b,caliper,1704
These guy have the number matching front caliper from centric rebuilt for 200 bucks Picture does not match but the fitment says XFR https://thmotorsports.com/3682143-ce...opping#fitment
Alos it seems your caliper brackets are a match so you only need calipers. https://www.luxuryautopartshq.com/oe...bC12OC1nYXM%3D

The 380/355 fronts are miles different and the 376/326 rears might look the same but they are a little different.
