Default Clarification on exhaust

Hi guys, just purchased a 2012 XF 5.0 N/A.
on the exhaust, after the cats there are 2 parts in the midpipe, a resonator and a muffler, but which is which? Was wanting to remove the one closest to the cats and replace it with an x pipe, and remove the rear mufflers. Leaving the 2nd piece in the mid pipe which looks like the resonator. Just wanted some clarification on that and also wondering the pipe size all the way through. Is it 2.5”?
and would also consider some high flow cats but saw on some other posts that with the o2 sensors on certain models its hard to install them without throwing engine codes. Is that true for this model?

Not many here mess with modifying the NA engine car. Muffler is the front one, the resonators are strainght through

the pipes are 2.5 except yhr resonators they are 2.25

Watch for drone when doing exhaust mods.
You might have to reinstall the stock stuff.

What are you trying to do?
As posted above get the SC 5.0L no point in messing with the NA version.
Especially now as the SC/R cars are very cheap for what you get!
