Battery Install Help
Ok…..batteries from Sears and Autozone are the same. However the Sears one can be installed for out the door price of $226 However, they will not install the Duralast one at Autozone because of liability issues (electrical problems later) but I could put it in myself for $180 and pulling my back out over 60 lbs. So, is there anything I need to do or know before doing it myself ? Does the dealer have to re-program any software or what ? I got the impression that it was pretty much plug and play (paying attention to the venting holes).
They think that the electronics on most european cars have too many things attached that could go wrong if they do something wrong…. he mentioned BMW,Mercedes, etc but not Jaguar until he looked at the car.
I would get the Bosch battery from Pep Boys.
Don't forget to get one that is vented and then be sure and install the vent correctly.
The Bosch battery has vents on both ends and a plug so you can always put it in the right way.

Went with the Sears route and glad I did……the extra cost was balanced by a very thorough techn. and they put a device on the positive side that kept the car settings from being deleted. I am going to now take note of the number of times the LCD screen shows the "low battery" message (very briefly but many times in the past).
