2009 x/f 4.2 Premium Luxury.
I have seen many write they had this with engine off too long and radio on.

I am getting this with engine Running/Idling AND on the LCD Nav screen with the red battery,,, not between the speedometer and Tach.''

3 Month old Dealer Installled battery.

I also posted - I have an OBD2 code - PO232
secondary fuel pump running high circuit.
I have to wait till after New Years…

could the secondary pump be running while car is off ??
the tech which many respect on this board ran the a test and thinks file lean but needs a day to run thorough checks.
any ideas?

 

Had the same thing happen to me last month. Happened all day, but haven't seen since. I would like to know as well.

 

seems we r only ones - brought to local shop they checked it out and said both battery and alt were producing right amounts

 

My original battery- I would sit in front of office for 1/2 hr daily engine off radio on- never saw the error- "entertainment shut in 3 min if no start"

now - If I go to dunkin doughnut and leave lights on for 4 minutes-
I come out and while I'm starting car the red warning puts up on the nab display.

this also happened WHILE THE ENGINE WAS IDLING AND I WAS READING PAPER FOR 5 MINUTES-
I MEAN RUNNING- GEAR SHIFTER UP- READY TO GO .

I CALLED JAG- TEY SAID ONE YEAR WARRANTY *NEW JAG BATERY 2 MONTHS AGO- AND WHAT IS HAPPENNING TO ME IS NORMAL.

IF I BRING IT INTO THEM- AND BATTERY IF FINE ITS $125.

SICKENS ME-

I HAD A WELL KNOWN PLACE (WONT WORK ON A JAG) CHECK THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR AND SAID IT WAS "PUTTING OUT" EXACY WHERE IT SHOULD BE.
I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO-

OTHERS SAID JAG PRO- I WILL USE THEM AS IM IN NY -
SAY - GIVE ME A $$$ NUMBER TO CK THE PO232 CODE - WHICH NEVER HAPPENNED AGAIN AND CK ELECTRICAL TOP TO BOTTOM THEN I DECIDE -

KILLS ME
BEST CAR I EVER OWNED - TROUBLE FREE TILL 50,100 MILES!
AND OMITTING THE EXOTICS I HAVE HAD EM ALL
FORDS- PINTO TOYOTA- BMW - MB

I truly believe these mechanics do not know what they are doing-
u gotta hope u get THE ONE who knows what to check for

 

Only things I can think of are either
a) an intermittent battery fault (far too common for my taste, and that is batteries in general)
b) The car will cycle the battery down to "something" (80% ?) and up again to keep it in good health. I have experienced strange battery induced messages on a handful of occations during the low period. The messages have disappeared on switching on the engine and after a few days gone for good. During a low I get the switch off message after 3 mins of music, during peak conditions I can listen undisturbed for 45 mins.
