Default Bought used 2012 XF Portfolio today

Hi,

I'm a new member and just bought a used 2012 XF Portfolio today. The details of the transaction are below for your reference:

2012 XF Portfolio, Ebony w/ charcoal interior, with options: Cold Weather Pack ($700), Burled Walnut Veneer ($300), Jet Headliner ($525). The total MSRP including destination fee was $61,400 even.

Car has 4600 miles on it (in "demo" service since April 2012).

Selling price today was $50,000, plus $171 in dealer fees, plus state tax of 3%, plus registration fee of $50. Also, the car is out of town and therfore there is about $500-$900 in additional cost to go get it or ship it here.

Here's a link to some pics the dealer took:

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Cal

Congrats!!
Beautiful Automobile! Black (or dark) cars can be a pain to keep clean and spot-free, but nothing compares when they are nice and shiny.
Love it!

Cal,

Saw your update in the Intro section. Didn't take long to seal the deal. XF looks great.

Be sure to keep that Monroney sticker in your vehicle history file. There's many owners on the forum regretting not being able to get hold of a replacement.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I actually got mine six weeks ago and got an almost identical deal($61,375; sold for $50,900; 282 miles). And also had to travel to get it. I traveled just short of 1300 miles and spent around $200 in gas and another $430 on airline tickets(fiancé and I). I didn't even look into shipping costs because we wanted to enjoy the drive back! Congrats and enjoy your car!

Beauiful car. I particularly like the headliner. Wish my XF had that headliner compared with the standard one it has

I have the grey headliner in the SC. I wanted the jet black. The look has grown on me as the charcoal interior is very nicely blended. The suede really sets it off as special. I have had a number of compliments and several women who have run their fingers across it with accompanying pleasant purrings and noises. Well worth it.

Just to clarify, are you still talking about the suede? ;-)

Thanks guys. I'm a big fan of the black suede headliner with the charcoal interior. Once I get hands on the car and get it detailed up I'll post some real pics.

What are your thoughts on picking it up in person and driving back verses shipping? I can ship it for about $750 total (open trailer) or pick it up for a slightly lower up front cost (but will rack up 1300 miles doing so). I'm kinda torn and could go either way on this.

Mine trip would have been less than half that distance, but I didn't have the time and needed my nearest local dealer to process the car. If you can afford the time and travel costs are included in your numbers then driving may be the way to go. Bring a friend!

I couldn't be bothered to travel 1300 miles to get a car, so I would probably opt for shipping.

That said, i wouldn't buy a car sight unseen, so if you take a friend, it might not be so bad...

First it depends on if you have the time. I went on the Memorial Day weekend to get mine so I had an extra day to go and get it. 1300 miles is a long drive buddy, I'm here to tell you. So it would probably be best to take someone with you. The price won't be much lower, especially if you stop somewhere and spend the night as the fiancé and I did. But it was one hell of a drive!

Wow excellent deal on the CPO's Portfolio! The extended warrantee to 100K included at that price is awesome. What dealership was that from? Our cars sound exactly the same including options.

PS: Mine gets delivered Monday morning...pics to follow.
