Hello I live in Colorado and its freezing up here and this may be why it broke? But I opened the trunk using the button underneath the JAGUAR letters. Then when i closed the trunk and locked the car, it wouldn't lock and would beep twice. I tried everything there is but the trunk will ONLY open if i insert the small key into it. The interior button doesn't work, the key button doesn't work, and the trunk button doesn't work. The Jaguar dealership said its a $350 fix but is there a way to have this fixed without taking it to them? I've been looking for a 2010 Jaguar repair manual but can't find one online. its a 2010 XF. please help me find a manual online or help me get a copy of it so I can try to fix it! Thank you!

Google Jaguar XF + Workshop Manual for a number of sources of the full factory manual in PDF download at around $12.

Free service manual are quickly becoming a thing of the past.
2010 and up XF's use Jags TOPix for service. There's a lot of info
https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com
There's also Mitchells http://www.eautorepair.net/marketing...t=YThey've been around for many years are owned by Snap On. I have not tried them but they are less pricey than TOPix.

I had the trunk not opening issue with my '12 XF. Was fixed under warranty by replacing the trunk wiring harness. You might want to troubleshoot the harness yourself. Apparently it was a fairly common issue, according to my Service Manager where a wire would break due to the flexing of this harness.

+1 It's common on a lot of cars. I repaired the wires on my Chrysler 300 myself. I just bought some automotive grade wire, and spliced it in place of the wires that had broken by the trunk hinge with a soldering iron. Not a hard job, and maybe $10 in parts. I am sure a dealer invoiced Jag something like $2000 to replace the whole harness under warranty.Originally Posted by axr6

Yes - I had same issue on my 2010 XF SC. One of the wires in the harness had broken at the hinge area - warranty replacement fortunately. But agreed that it should be an easy fix with a soldering iron too

Maybe a heads up for those of us that haven't had this issue yet. Check to see if something can be done to stop this problem. Re-route or loosen the harness bend?
