A/C oil charge
I am replacing the condenser and compressor on my 2009 xf. The seal was leaking on the compressor, and I do not know how much oil to replace. I have flushed the system and need to know how much oil to replace in the a/c system. Any help is appreciated!
Your compressor should have instructions to guide you.
Do you know how much oil the system is supposed to hold?
Do you know what kind of oil to use?
It's a bit of a guess because you don't know how much oil leaked out the front seal.
What I do if no information is to put 4 oz. in the compressor and 4 oz. in the dryer. Be sure and rotate the compressor by hand to move the oil around some. You don't want a big slug in the compressor and then hit it with the drive belt.
Now you don't mention replacing the dryer and it's MANDATORY anytime the system is opened or anytime anything is replaced.
Please add the dryer to your list. It's cheap and is really needed!
Also be aware that you can't flush a dual evaporator because it has a split flow path. The flush always has a way around any debris. So flush it but understand it's not purging all the passageways because of this split.
What does the returned flush look like? Hopefully very clean.

Thanks for the help! I went to the dealer this morning and talked to a tech. He looked the system up and it holds 4.3 ounces. I am replacing the drier, it's part of the condenser. Flush is clean. Thanks again!
