Default Coolant Level Low

2010 XF Supercharged 5.0. Recently the Coolant Level Low message came up on center console. Waterpump and pipes were changed by dealer less than 8 months ago. The vehicle does not appear to be losing coolant . Reservoir tank shows full at Max level. When engine is cold message does not display, it appears about 30 to 40 minutes into driving when engine warm. No other fault codes or erratic behavior, engine running smoothly. Could the sensor in the reservoir tank be failing? Thank you all.

Yes. If it says coolant tank low when the coolant tank is not low then it's probably the tank sensor. Easiest fix is to get a replacement tank. Not expensive and an easy swap over
Plus the tank itself can age and leak eventually anyway

I wouldn't mess with the cooling system on these cars. If you actually do get a low coolant level warning for a real leak and ignore it that could overheat and destroy the engine. That's an expensive replacement

In the UK mine included external sensor and a new cap

The internal float is included as it is built in to the tank

The 4.2 supercharged has a larger tank so maybe check if your 5.0 has

Yes. Should be all that you need. But no harm in asking to make absolutely sure!
If you search on here there are a couple of threads from people who have done it themselves

Thanks for all the help. I replaced the coolant reservoir yesterday. Issue resolved. Drove car for about 90 continous minutes, and the error has not returned.
