Default A couple newbie questions

Just bought my first Jaguar yesterday, an '09 XF with only 11K miles, and have a couple of questions for all you guys and gals.

Living in MN I was a little apprehensive going to a RWD car. Right now it has all-season's on 19 inch rims. I'm going to get winter tires ... do most of you get a dedicated tire/wheel set to switch back and forth to? Just get the rubber and switch it off the wheels each fall and spring? What's the driving experience with winters?

Getting to my gas cap is ridiculous, took my a couple minutes to get to it and once there I could tell something was used to get in there more than once. Is this common? Any easy fixes?

The NAV is pretty much worthless, it has a 07/08 map. I don't really mind as my iPhone navigation works great. Would installing a new map make it any better? It just seems to react very slowly.

What are people's opinions on the Mina Performance Intake and Exhaust? Any other's that should be considered?

Thanks in advance for everyone's insight! It will be appreciated.

Snow tires: I will be getting and extra set of 18" wheels and put snows on them. The 18" tires are half of the price of 19" snows. Keep your stock wheels salt free and swapping is simple. In the past, with my last car, I just ignored the dash warning light while the snows were on.

GPS maps: get the latest disc, easy to upgrade, simple as ejecting the old disc and inserting the new one. Should be in the $150 range and everything is updated.

Gas cap: I have heard that is common on the 09 models, I have a 10 and have not had a issue bt I only got my car recently.

I just bought our 2009 XF Supercharged two weeks ago. I think the navigation works fine, especially when I compare it to the nav in my wife's X3. I also just forked over the $199 + tax for the new nav CD, which should arrive in the mail soon. I don't think it will improve the system's performance except the database will now have the "new" roads and POI's added.

I have 20" rims and live in Virginia, so I can't help you with driving in the snow.

The gas cap was a PIA initially, but I got used to it and it seems to respond to my touch now. My wife hasn't had the chance to try it yet. I'll probably get an angry phone call the first time she stops to fill up and can't get the door open.

Thanks 10 XF & VapourTrail!

VapourTrail, my thoughts exactly, I figured that I'd be able to get the "touch", but also wasn't looking forward to the first time wifey had to put in gas! But, the dealer I bought it from is looking into it and likely will be taking care of it ... will let you know what happens.
