I notice that your trunk/boot doesn't line up all that well with the lights, I had the same problem on my old XFS and to a smaller degree on the XFR, and same as you mainly on the RHS.
I found there was no way to lower the boot lid by much, but I improved the appearance of mine a lot by lifting the height of the light assembly a bit.
Just remove the light assembly (easy - undo three 10 mm nuts inside the boot and unclip the wiring plug) and pack out the bottom of the assembly with one or two bits of Velcro, the "soft" part. You only need one or two small pieces.
I had to experiment a bit with the placement and thickness of the Velcro before I got it right.

Thanks, fellow neurotic! I've had a twitch about that every time I looked at the car from the back end. I'm glad to hear somebody found a solution. I didn't want to raise the boot and have the edges not line up, so I didn't even look into that.
