Does the Bosch 010 pump work in a 2015 XFR 5.0?? Killer Chiller upgrade
When you are talking to Ryan at ardent performance tell him you've been chatting with me!
Having changed many of the mounts I have never once had to Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. What makes you say this must happen? They are far from being in the way of removing the driver side mount.
From memory, I couldn't get enough clearance to remove the L/H mount without doing this (ie removing just the mount without the support), but if you have any tips on changing out the L/H mount without AC draining/filling I'd love them! The workshop manual is by no means perfect.
Well, the workshop manual, for one (attached). The AC pump when fitted covers at least one (maybe two) of the four bolts that hold the mount "support" in place, and to remove it to get enough clearance to access these bolts you need to remove the fixed pipes attached to the pump.

This is of course me speaking of the supercharged v8, it may be different for the supercharged v6 and other models.
The mount suport or bracket as you would does not need to be removed and can be left in place. For the actual mount itself there are two nuts that hold it in place. Neither of which are interfered with by the A/C compressor or its lines. You can remove the lower nut on both sides of the motor and either raise the motor with a brace/support from the top or a jack from the bottom. Once the engine is lifted you will have more than enough room to remove the upper mount bolt and slide it in and out interference free.

I use both, I support the engine from the top at the start of the job, then jack it up only when needed. That way even if I have the jack fail the brace will hold the engine.

Thanks for the hint!
Where do you place the jack? The oil pan?
Huh, I struggled to get enough lift on the engine with a transmission jack underneath to get the mount with it's two threaded ends out of both the hole in the mount bracket and the hole in the subframe, because these threaded ends poke out from the mount quite a way both top and bottom, but maybe I just wasn't persistent enough

Ironically enough I had one come in to work today that needed the drivers motor mount. I did not take pictures of the support up top, but was able to take a few of down bottom
