You will not be disappointed in it! I fully recommend replacing motor mounts at this time as well. As once the headers are installed the job becomes massively more difficult.

Looks awesome! Any recommendation for motor mounts and what would be the benefit?

Well with the new headers you will be installing it will make the job 4-5 hours longer to replace them. So I recommend just doing it while you are already in there, so you will have fresh ones and are not fighting worn out mounts!

When you are talking to Ryan at ardent performance tell him you've been chatting with me!

Bear in mind to change the driver's side mount you'll need to drain and refill the AC, as you need to remove the pump and it's on solid pipes. Thanks, Jaguar.

Having changed many of the mounts I have never once had to Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. What makes you say this must happen? They are far from being in the way of removing the driver side mount.

Well, the workshop manual, for one (attached). The AC pump when fitted covers at least one (maybe two) of the four bolts that hold the mount "support" in place, and to remove it to get enough clearance to access these bolts you need to remove the fixed pipes attached to the pump.

From memory, I couldn't get enough clearance to remove the L/H mount without doing this (ie removing just the mount without the support), but if you have any tips on changing out the L/H mount without AC draining/filling I'd love them! The workshop manual is by no means perfect.

The mount suport or bracket as you would does not need to be removed and can be left in place. For the actual mount itself there are two nuts that hold it in place. Neither of which are interfered with by the A/C compressor or its lines. You can remove the lower nut on both sides of the motor and either raise the motor with a brace/support from the top or a jack from the bottom. Once the engine is lifted you will have more than enough room to remove the upper mount bolt and slide it in and out interference free.

This is of course me speaking of the supercharged v8, it may be different for the supercharged v6 and other models.

Which method did you use, the brace or jack?

I use both, I support the engine from the top at the start of the job, then jack it up only when needed. That way even if I have the jack fail the brace will hold the engine.

Huh, I struggled to get enough lift on the engine with a transmission jack underneath to get the mount with it's two threaded ends out of both the hole in the mount bracket and the hole in the subframe, because these threaded ends poke out from the mount quite a way both top and bottom, but maybe I just wasn't persistent enough

Thanks for the hint!

Where do you place the jack? The oil pan?

Ironically enough I had one come in to work today that needed the drivers motor mount. I did not take pictures of the support up top, but was able to take a few of down bottom
