Default Doors

Recently the two front doors need a hard pull from the outside when entering and a strong shoulder bump from the inside when exiting to open. Strange. If I wasn't the only owner I would think the car was wrecked and out of structural alignment. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks. 2012 XF Portfolio Sport

The exterior door handles are Volvo items and are known to stick. However, if the same trouble arises when opening from the inside it is not likely the door handles.

Have you considered cleaning and lubricating the door seals?

Sounds like the latch isn't matching up. The door must be sagging. Try lifting and then opening. If that helps the door/latches need to be re-adjusted. It's unlikely both front doors would have this issue so that's very odd. Make the dealer take care of it.

The car is at Jaguar now. I won't be touching the seals. I've had too many seal issues. It's feels mechanical. We'll see....

Just got the car back. They adjusted the door "rockers". The doors close normally now.

Rockers could be the lower portion of the door or even the sill the door slides over when shut. I wouldn't have thought any of that was "adjustable" unless it was loose.

Glad to hear it's fixed.

That makes sense. Blackcoog earns the prize for accurate diagnosis.
