Default Doors locked with fob but still open from handle

Hi all

wonder if anyone has same issue..

I have a 2010 Jaguar XF. I recently discovered that after locking the car with the fob, locks appear to engage and mirrors fold however if I pull on a door handle the doors will open and alarm doesn’t go off.

any ideas what would cause this?

thanks in advance

Your car has keyless entry, so when locked just pulling on the door handle is the normal way to open it, as long as the key's within 2-3 feet of the door.

i have the opposite problem, My doors will (rarely) lock with the fob, but when i come back and pull on the handle it does open but it also triggers the alarm, causing some embarrassment as i fumble for the key fob trying to shut it off

@Maddshadez you have a bad door latch assembly. If all the other doors are actually locking. @Robinus is right. If the car is locking and the doors open without setting off the alarm, it’s most likely passive entry. If there is a button on the exterior handles, then passive entry is equipped. Key has to be within 1 meter for the capacitive discharge function operate on the door handle.

Can't help with the locking, but this "feature" can be turned off by the user on the control panel. After an 04:30 incident, I did some digging and found it.

I am not sure if this will help you with your locking issue but it did for me. My issue was that I would attempt to lock the door from the button on the door handle and the car would beep two times and the security light would turn on but the door was not locked.
