Default Double beeps on locking…..again….

Hi folks,
a well discussed topic I know, I’ve read through loads of posts but still come up none the wiser.

my 2014 R sportsbrake double beeps after locking the car , every door locks, and the tailgate locks,
Should the switch above the pull handle on the door card inside simultaniouslyn lock/unlock all the doors, only one of them do this,
the left front door…( rhd uk car). Would this cause the beeps…any ideas to,sort this as it drives me insane. 😂

Also, should this model have fold up wing mirrors, as they dont, and there’s nothings related to this in the main menu of the cars touchscreen..

last thing, do the front parking sensors only work when reverse is selected,

thanks for any help

D

First my 2013 Sportbrake does not have electric fold up mirrors but it was an option just not selected by my previous owner.

Second the front sensors work in all gears but there is a button on the roof consul you have to press to activate them if in drive. It then shows up on the centre screen with a diagram of the car showing the front sensors in action In reverse they automatically come on.

When I lock my car the first push of the button on the remote locks the car with a thunk and a flash of lights. The second push of the button double locks the doors and sets the alarm and it gives you a double beep with another flash of lights. If you have dogs in the car you just push the button once, without dogs you double push to set the internal alarm and you get the double beep. On mine all the doors lock individually on the internally handles, auto lock together over 25 miles an hour and all lock and unlock on the button on the centre consul.

Hmm on a 2013 I get a single beep after deadlocking the car ( two presses of the button ), I think double beep is supposed to indicate a fault ( think I've had that when I've not closed a door for example )

The behaviour you describe for the front left door is what I get on both front doors ( i.e. operating that switch above the pull handle will lock and unlock all doors. ) The switch on the rear doors does not affect the the other doors, only the door you operate it on, so sounds like you have an issue on the drivers door.

With the ignition on try pressing both of the buttons that select which mirror you're adjusting at the same time, that should fold the mirrors if you have power fold mirrors.

i think my car doesn’t have fold up mirrors, nothing happens when I press the two buttons at the same time, and there’s nothing related
to them in the main menu, only the global window option. I would have thought something like that would have been standard issue
on what is supposed to be a luxuary car….

I was thinking along the same lines with the drivers door, I’ll look into it further, see what’s involved in getting it repaired.

thanks.
