Default DSC

Can someone please explain how DSC works and when is the best time to use it or disable it.

You probably don't want to disable it.

It will detect any tendency to skid or the like and correct it. (Try not to overdo things as it cannot overcome the laws of physics.)

It uses the brakes, steering, transmission and throttle to keep you on the road. I've only turned mine off to drag race, no burnouts with it on. It also can't overcome the laws of physics, so you get too crazy, off the road you'll be..lol

On US Spec V8 cars, the DSC has 3 stages. (I do not know about smaller engine cars or non-US spec).

Full on is what it defaults to when you start the car (no dash indicator illuminated). It does not allow any wheel spin (except for a chirp if you really hammer that gas).

Press button of 2-3 seconds, you get a warning light on dash. You are now in "trac" mode. This allows a bit of wheel spin, allows a small amount of fun but will keep you from going sideways.

Press button for 13 seconds and you have disabled it completely. No drivers aids except ABS.
