Global close works but not from the fob. Turn it on in the settings. The global close works only with the lock button in the outside door handle.

I had the same question when I bought my 2010 XF LUX, the dealer refused even after I also offered to sign a liability waiver.

"Global close works but not from the fob. Turn it on in the settings. The global close works only with the lock button in the outside door handle."

I don't think I have a lock button on the door handle!!

Look at your door handles - any of them - they all have a small square button that is for locking. They're not designed to draw attention, but they are there.

Well turning it on is the problem. When you select ON, it defaults back to Off automatically.

How do you get it to stay turned on?

Are you sure you're not dealing with Passive Arming? I have the above problem with that.

Global Open and Global Close stay on when set.

Interesting.. No passive alarming stays on for me, its the Global Close that resets back to off after turning it on. Maybe its a regional thing. I'm in USA, california.

If I remember correctly, initially the 2010s came with the global close from the door button and interior lock button disabled for legal reasons that involved a fear of spawn being squished even when you are present (as a UK member phrased it). Later, Jag reinstated the global close from the buttons after, I presume, a lot of owner yelling and hollering. A dealer should be able to get the vehicle reprogamed to allow it.

Lots of misleading info out there.........

2010 XF models CAN have Global Close reinstated if it will not 'stay on' when selected. Cars after VIN# R62815 have had it activated by Jaguar at assembly already.

It requires the dealer have the vehicle connected to the IDS/SDD diagnostic equipment and contact Jaguar Technical to have the equipment activated to allow the change in configuration. The dealer CANNOT do it on their own.

Global Close is only allowed by the interior lock switch, and the exterior door handle switch IF the car is equipped with passive unlocking; that's the lock system that allows you to open the car simply by pulling the door handle with the key in your pocket. If you do not have that system, you will not have the exterior door handle buttons. Global Close is never possible with the remote key.

Hope that helps!
