I have a 2012 XF Supercharged and the last time the car was at the dealer for servicing they didn't put the engine cover back on correctly. I took it back so they could re-fit it and the service advisor told me it's very difficult to get it properly located. Apparently they have to push down on something at the back of the engine to get it properly located. Anyone know of the proper technique for fitting it?

 

Pah......its easy.

slides on at the back below the plenum and pushes down at the front on two rubber bung/grommets.......

take it back to them and get them to complete the job!!! Thats what you pay them for.

 

Bull-feces!!!!...they needn't be messing around with Jaguars if they can't put the parts back on..


I learned the hard way..I popped mine off the first day I had it, and it was a booger-bear to get back on...but still very doable.

 

I put a little grease on my grommets, cover slides on real easy now.

 

Thanks, figured it out. Although I did find that one of the rear mounting grommets was missing. Another quality job from the Jaguar dealer.
