I discovered a leak coming from this part. Looks like oil. What is this?? I have a Jaguar XF 2009 premium luxury

I don't have the same engine, but that looks like the VVT solenoid on my xj8. Common spot to leak. If its like my xj8, its got a lip seal pressed into the valve cover. Its not very expensive (only like $6 for the aftermarket version on rockauto) and you should be able to pry off the old one and press in the replacement without removing the valve cover.
