Exclamation Error Code P008B - New User

Hi there, I am new bee here and hoping someone has an answer to my issue. I got CEL a couple days and took it to the dealership but they are booked for the next 10 days, so I decided to take it to a local shop to get an Error code (P008B - Low Pressure Fuel System - Too High) however, I dont have any issues while Im driving, no performance issues or anything.

Im not sure whats going on here. Does someone here have any experience with this?

Powertrain DTC's are numeric. Is that a typo for P0088?

If so, and provided there's no fuel leakage from the rail it's likely to be an out-of-range signal (too high or too low voltage) from a faulty Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor or a harness issue.

Default P008B

Thank you for the reply, Graham! It isnt a typo, the error on the machine was P008B, and there is no fuel leakage.

They used to be... but they added the ones with letters

(In effect hex. i.e. hexadecimal.)

I had the same fault code intermittently on my Jag. Its saying there is a pressure problem somewhere in your system. I ended up taking it to Jag dealer and they found a split hose (£33) and Ive never had the problem again once this hose was fitted. An indipendant specialist with engine diagnostice can look at this for you, they can also smoke test your system to look for leaks. Failing that it will be a sensor faulty somewhere.
