JAguar dealership mentioned to me I will need new brake pads in the next 6 months. What is the cost if Jaguar does the work?

Please advise.

Rear pads usually wear out twice as fast as the fronts. Are you sure it is the fronts that are in need of replacement?

Rear pads were replaced by previous owner. Guys, what should I pay for front brake pads at a jaguar dealership. Need your expertise.

Thank you.

Replacing pads is easy. It's hard to say what pad prices should be but worst case you'd see $150-250 for pads from the dealer. Say it takes them 1-2 hours at about $150/hr.

$300-550 is my guess.

If you can get the correct pads on your own and you have the tools to do it you could swap them for fairly cheap. Searching online it appears most sites say the XF uses the same pads as the S-type. I'm not sure if that is correct and I'm sure the Supercharged and R versions have different pads as well, which isn't really showing up.

The XFR probably has those super fancy, super easy to change brake calipers that some of my other exotics had.

If so, it's literally takes more time to take the wheel off than to change the pads. An easy DIY, and pocket that $150-$300 for yourself.

And never buy anything from your local dealer parts counter because you'll pay full price. Lots of online dealers sell OEM at a big discount.

I paid around $280 for the front pads on my XF R. (that was with a 20% discount since the dealer forgot to change them when I was there a week earlier for 25K mile service)
