I don't know if one of these would work on an XF but worth asking about.

The other option for the XFR is https://skenebrackets.com
I had this on mine - it does drill into the bumper but underneath so it's not visible if/when you remove the front plate.

Thankfully the Dallas area cops don't have time for enforcement of this but boy it took no time at all to get pulled over south of here because of no plates. I won't drill the front and would play dumb in the future. The plate is in the front seat just in case I get pulled over again. Front plates make no sense at all to me if only *some* states require them. Would they chase down an out of state car just to find out it does not need plates????

i looked at all the options as well. ended up cheaping out and bought / cut / heated / bent / fastened to car a piece of aluminum stock from home depot. car had lived its life in PA and i didn't want to drill front for NY compliance.. it worked for me and, as added benefit, doesn't block radiator or bumper sensors.

Here in Ireland - and the UK - all cars have to have front license plates, unfortunately.
I hate having to drill bodywork, but sadly my car had this done previous to my ownership. And when I removed the plate to change it I found it had been done twice - four holes.
I'd much rather use some form of hidden fixing like the above. If I ever get the bumper resprayed to cover stone-chips etc I'll get the holes filled first.

When I had my front bumper resprayed last year, I bought the Skene mount. I still haven't put the mounting bracket or the license plate back on the car because it looks so much better without it. I'm officially gambling though, and if I do get ticketed, I'll take care of it.
I have noticed a large number of higher end cars with no front plates, so I'm hoping the LEO's are just not enforcing. My neighbor is an officer and he said they don't really care much unless you give them a reason.
