Default Fuel pump/fuel delivery!? Please help

Hi folks, I hope you can help. My Dads XF refused to restart after a trip to the shops and we’ve had to recover it back to the house. The keys detected(although the battery was low but we’ve changed the battery just in case) and it’s turning over but not catching. Where would be the best place to start. Sounds like it could be the fuel pump to me

You didn't specify what engine you have, but I'm reasonably sure that there should be a fuel rail somewhere on the engine. Crank the engine for a couple of seconds, then turn the ignition off. Locate the "Schrader valve" (looks like a valve stem on the wheel), remove the cap, and CAREFULLY give the stem in the middle of the valve, a short push. Fuel should spurt out, and if it doesn't, you most likely have a fuel delivery problem.
