Default Going backwards with rims...

Well they say necessity is the mother of invention. I didn't invent anything but I found something out that surprised me. The wife has a 2009 XF, took it to the tire shop and found a cracked rim. I have no problem getting her a rim but i have to wait for it to get here and the meantime, didn't want her car sitting at the tire shop waiting. I happen to have a set of 2005 rims for an S-type...and said "wonder if those will work?" So I drag them down from the garage loft and to my surprise they had new Pirelli tires on them. So long story short, added tire sensors and voila they fit. 245 front 275 back and I was surprised to say the least. The stock S type rims filled the wheelwell space as though I had added spacers. And, I don't think they look horrible as stock rims go. Had it aligned and it drives so nice that I may leave them on until next tire purchase. Beats letting the tires rot away in garage. I'm adding some pics, but go easy lol. It's just stock rims! And yes I know it's filthy dirty... at some.point she has to be responsible for her clean car!🤣🤣🤣

Surprised they filled out the wheel wells.

No spacers here!
