Default headlight

Had my jag for quite some time now it is the 2008 xf model and I now need to bang my front left head light in order for It to come on how can I fix this??

Sounds like a loose or corroded grounding wire or power wire.

Having same type issue...could be Ballast or bulb..mines is intermittant...my mechanic swapped enviorment to see which is failing...suspect ballast. hope this helps.

What type of headlamp do you have? Check the connections!

Yeah all the connections are in properly non of them were lose.

Well it must be a mechanically weak connection as you mention banging it to make it work. So go back through it all carefully and see if you can determine where your electrical circuit is weak. If not I suggest a dealer visits is in order. If you Have HiD's then there could be a bad connection in the circuit board inside the igniter. If it is a halogen then it could be as simple as a regular bulb with a bad connection to the filament inside the bulb, I have seen that before. Have you tried replacing the bulb?

Either way, if there is a bad connection there will be evidence in the form of melted wires, burnt PCB's or charred components. You just need to look harder!
