Default Headlight out on 2009 XF

Right passenger headlight out. High beam works, low doesn’t. Repair service says problem is the ground wire and new assembly is needed. Does this make sense to anyone?

I would change the bulb first. For what they cost, it's a no brainer.

Default Headlights

Tried new bulb. Went out within a few minutes. Looks like some melted wires are involved. Thanks though.
