Question Headlight Problem

Hi I have a 2012 Jaguar XF - My problem is the front headlights, they have got very dim. Just wondering is the function of the inner light closest to the grill only an indicator or has it got a second function for example fog lamp or daytime running light etc. Should both round lights light up simultaneously, if not what is the reasoning for such poor lighting. What should I do?

try adjusting them. It seems the output is normal as generally when an HID goes bad it turns color and yours looks normal
