Default Headlights

I have a XF supercharged 2012. I have noticed that only one pair of headlights turns on is there something I am doing wrong? I was under the impression that since there are four lights all of them should turn on.

That's normal. The outter two projectors are what lights up the road. The inner two is your turn signals.

Umm, if I may offer another observation, Executive is correct that the outer two projectors are the "normal" lo-beams that come on when you turn on your headlights. If you mean the inner two that are identified in the photo below, those are the hi-beams

Ish,

Two competely different models and two different systems.

As i had stated, on the 2012+ the outters contorl both the low beam and the high beam. The picture you have marked as high beam is the turn signals.

Pre-2012s, like yours, had a seperate bowl for the high beam.

Weird but true. The amber corner "lights" are just reflectors.

The amber lenses at the front actually house LED side marker lights. They're not just reflectors.

This should elucidate the turn signals at least.

Not that this is an earth shatteringly important issue, but I do wonder why Jaguar decided to make the side marker housing amber - the turn sgnals are white/clear until the LEDs illuminate amber. Could they have done the same thing with the side marker, or maybe it is a legal (US) requirement that there be a reflector bulit in on the front that has to be amber when the car is stationary (parked)? Would have looked cleaner IMHO with no amber

Unfortunately, it is a requirement in US. According to them it gives off a vehicle's position better, which may be true. But, distracted driving is a much bigger issue and nothing is being done.....but, that's just politics at normalcy.

If you like the cleaner look(i do), you can always buy the housings off ebayuk and install them yourself. 100% NEW Genuine Jaguar XF HID LED Xenon Head light headlamp headlight 2012 2013 | eBay
