How to: Install Mina Gallery Pulley
I am not great with How To's and words but to give those who are thinking of adding a new pulley here is a simple guide.
I bought the Mina Gallery Pulley and it came with some simple instructions. Chris from Mina was also available to speak with me if needed during the install. Here is how I went about it and th pictures are below for reference.
Knowing from changing all kinds of pulleys in the past I had an idea what to expect so this is how I started out.
First I made sure the car was cold and has not been started in the past 4 hours to ensure the pulley and supercharger shaft was cold.
Next I just removed the intake Y pipe by loosening 3 worm clamps and disconnecting 2 vac lines. The Y pipe came out very easy in about 3 minutes time. Next I used a 3/8 long ratchet bar and inserted in the 3/8 hole on the lower left side belt tensioner.Rotate counter clockwise about a 1/4 turn til it stops and then the belt is loose for your to remove off of the supercharger. Nxt I had a Evolution.net Ford pulley tool to try to get the pulley off without cutting, this did not work at all!. Next I used my 4 inch cut off wheel and made some stress cuts as you see in the pix to wekaen the pulley. After some good amount of careful cutting not to go to deep I used the pulley tool again and it finally broke loose and came off. I tossed the new pulley in the toaster oven and left it in there for 30 min at 425 degrees. while that thing was cooking I polish the supercharger shaft with 600 grit wet paper wit ha touch of wd40 for lube to polish th shaft nicely.
When I took the pulley out I had a temp gun to check the temp and it was only 350 degrees so I hit the center front and back with my small torch until it hit 500 degrees. I then quickly pressed t he new pulley on with 0 force as it slide on by itself using just a oven glove. I then used a cup of ice water to pour over the pulley to cure/harden it and it locked into place firmly. I put the belt back on and the intake pipe and she was ready for a test drive.
I only drove it for about 10 min as it was rainy and I had to be somewhere but my first thoughts are pretty good. I felt a lil more of a pull all the way through the RPM band and I can now hear the blower whine just a tad.
When it drys up and I have some time I will drive it a bit harder to see how much kick it has. This pulley install was not hard and anyone who has done small maintience on their own cars can do this inside 2 hour time.
This pulley size is NOT aggressive and is just enough to add a bit more safe power to the car. Dollar for dollar this is a perfect power adder that is simple to do and non-invasive. Most delaers will never notice it unless they measure it as it looks like the stock pulley. I cant wait to put my Mina Gallery Exhaust on and K&N filter with a tune/map done next week to finish up my modding for now. If you have any questions please ask as I will be glad to help out.
Please push the THANKS button if this helped you in any way.

Thanks for the thorough write-up! Have you ever heard an estimate of how much additional power should be made from each additional pound of boost? I'm assuming it would be less than what would be expected on a turbocharged engine due to the losses in driving the S/C.
Has anyone dyno'd theirs before and after a pulley upgrade only?

Since the only simple bolt on non-invasive mods consist of : K&N filters, cat back exhaust. and a pulley with a tune why not do them all as all of them combined nets some nice power gains for such simple mods.
Who is doing the tune for you? I want to do the pulley and get a tune, I was wondering if late model Ford Mustang tuning shops would be able to custom tune our XF's? I'd like mine custom tuned on a dyno rather than buy a canned tune.

What difference do you feel from stock?
Many including me have done the 1.7lb pulley upgrade from Mina; on our s type r's. If you do a small search on the s type forums you'll see a variety of dyno reports stating major gains. Personally I had an Indy jag shop do mine, by cutting it off. Let's just say I drove her home with a big smile on my face.
And no lifting the motor, it is super easy to get to with a 4" or 2" electric cut off wheel.
If only the pulley is changed, the stock computer has the ability to compensate for the increase in air? Has anyone seen any lean codes?
When I put a cold air intake on my Vette I started getting lean condition codes and had to have the car tuned.

I just strapped it to the dyno ti find out. It has 115 miles since my mods and the end result was 12.4 A/F across the board at WOT. So with the K&N filters, Pulley, Exhaust the computer was able to FULLY adjust with ease.
That is great info! Had you previously pulled a baseline on the dyno prior to the mods? What was the rwhp now? I'm thinking I may just do the pulley as the tunes out there for these things seem to have "the Jaguar tax" applied and are just to expensive.
I've driven mine about 1,000 miles since the pulley was installed (drove from Atlanta to Charleston and back over Mem Day wknd) and have had no codes/issues.
