how to take out over head console? i broke the middle dome light
I was replacing the lights in my car with LEDs and for some reason the middle dome light wouldnt work. i was twisting the LED a little until the whole socket twisted and next thing i knew it was pushed in!
did i fully break the dome light or can i twist it back in (once i open it up)?
how can i open it up?

Grab a trim removal tool and stick it up between the edge of the console and the roof lining, on the side, about an inch in from the rear edge, and lever the console downwards.
Then do the same on the other side. The console should now pull clear of the roof and will hang by it's wiring. You can then disconnect the wiring plug and take the console to your workbench, or leave it in place and work on it in the car, your choice. You can use a flat blade screwdriver instead of a trim tool, but you risk damaging the console and/or the roof lining, a plastic trim removal tool is better.
The lights/globes/bulbs sit in bulb holders which twist then pull out, with about a 1/4 turn (I forget which direction).
With any luck you haven't broken the middle one or it's mounting slot, you have just twisted then pushed rather than twisted then pulled, and it's an easy fix.
